Born and resident of Tembisa, Lekau is a soft spoken political artist. Needless to say, he’s currently studying Politics at UNISA. Lekau’s artworks consists of mixed media artworks which comment on ideological structures built into society. He unravels the uncomfortable space of political, social and racial divisions created by politics and the media in South Africa. More often he carefully attempts to visually communicate the behaviors and actions different people express towards the “other”. Through these artworks, Lekau hopes to reveal the injustice of politics and thinking which create unnecessary divisions in society.
